Project Description
SOMNARIUM. is a psychological horror audio drama told through recovered recordings, patient files, witness statements, and fragmented archival material. The story follows a growing pattern of disappearances, deaths, and recurring nightmares, all seemingly connected through a sleep clinic and a deeper hidden mythology. This casting call is for two male roles in a dark, atmospheric, story-driven production intended for podcast release.
Content Warnings
Psychological horror, insomnia, paranoia, disappearance, death, grief, disturbing imagery, implied violence, and themes of loss.
Usage Rights / Where Audio Will Be Used
Selected performances will be used in the final released episodes of SOMNARIUM. and may also be used in trailers, teasers, promotional clips, social media marketing, and archive-style bonus materials related to the project.
Role 1 — Detective James Raynor
Gender: Male
Playing Age: 40s-50s
Voice / Tone: Grounded, intelligent, observant, controlled. Quiet authority over dramatic swagger.
Character Description
A middle-aged detective. Rational, intuitive, and analytical. He is not the kind of man who jumps to conclusions, and he does not scare easily. He follows patterns, asks the right questions, and keeps his emotions tightly controlled, even when the case in front of him starts pushing beyond what should be possible.
Audition Lines
“I don’t care what people think they saw. I care about what can be proven.”
“Missing persons, unexplained deaths, private journals that should not even exist in evidence… Either someone is building a very elaborate lie, or we’re standing in the middle of something much worse.”
“I’m not asking you to trust your instincts. I’m asking you to walk me through the facts, one more time.”

Role 2 — Not Introduced Male Character
Gender: Male
Playing Age: 50s
Voice / Tone: Soft-spoken, careful, ceremonial, restrained. Fragile authority with fear underneath.
Character Description
A careful, soft-spoken figure who currently occupies a position of terrible importance. He is dutiful, submissive, and painfully aware that his authority is conditional. He serves because he believes he must, not because he is proud of what he is. There is fear underneath nearly everything he says, especially when power, hierarchy, or disobedience enter the conversation.
Audition Lines
“I was given a duty. I have done everything asked of me. I have not strayed.”
“There is a difference between being chosen and being placed. You would be wise not to confuse the two.”
“Please… do not make me speak of him as though he cannot hear us.”
Direction Notes
Quiet. Cautious. Fragile authority. He should sound like someone trying very hard not to offend the wrong presence.
